Cook on the terrace – the first recipe

At the end of our firs wine dinner the majority of our guests voted this course as the best food-wine pairing: Fried goats cheese wrapped in bacon, with caramelised pear-wedges , paired with Hollóvár Hárslevelű 2013 wine.

Ingredients, when served as a starter course, counting approx. 10 dkg/three finger-sized pieces of goats cheese and half a pear:
– semi-hard goats cheese
– streaky bacon
– pear
– balsamic cream
– pumpkin-seed oil
Cut the cheese into finger-sized streaks, wrap the bacon slices around them and fry them using only their own fat in a pan, until the bacon is nicely coloured, then remove from the pan. Cut the pears into even – sized wedges and fast-fry them in the bacon-cheese juices until caramelised.
When serving, put balsamic cream on the pears, and a few drops of pumpkin-seed oil on the cheese.
